Age 27 was the best year I had lived up until that point.
It was filled with purpose, accomplishments and fulfilment. I discovered new heights in my intimacy with God and maturity in my walk with Him. I started a new journey in my life bringing both joy, blessings and challenges, all working together to make me better.
My family became close, differences were put aside and relationships grew strong and rich. I saw my siblings grow in maturity, wisdom and become an inspiration to their peers. I saw them pursue God with a sincere passion which inspired me! I saw my parents fully surrender their hearts to God and walk His path.
I met people who became a permanent part of my life. People who, through our relationship, many others were blessed. I was also used as a tool in God’s Hands to reveal the Truth to many others through expressing His love. My desires for my 27th year here on this earth were all accomplished! That was a true highlight for me!
What was meant for me was given to me. What was meant for me found me.
Similarly, what wasn’t meant for me did not approach me.
I trusted and believed God with my love life. I followed His directions and He wove out a beautiful love story.
You may be reading this thinking erm Marilyn, you only turned 27 a couple of hours ago, why are you speaking in the past tense as though it was years ago???
I learned this during the service at church this past Sunday. Confidence in God and in His Word makes you speak as though things have already happened. Let’s take Prophet Isaiah’s example :
Isaiah 53:5 NKJV
But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.
He lived hundreds of years before Jesus was born but yet he spoke of what Jesus would accomplish as though it was in the past tense. He didn’t say – by His stripes we WILL be healed, but that we ARE healed….. (and it hadn’t even happened yet).
This really resonated with me and awakened a faith within me. It is a faith which defies logic and requires confidence, a faith in the supernatural. This is actually what we’ve been called to. As I type, I remember this verse :
Job 22:28 NKJV
You will also declare a thing,
And it will be established for you;
So light will shine on your ways.
I advise you to always read the background story to any verse from the bible to gain context. Job had been through what many of us can never imagine. This was a speech one of his friends was making to him to exhort and encourage him. Reminding Job that when he draws close to God, intimacy, amazing things begin to open up simultaneously. Beautiful right?
Whatever the previous years of your life have narrated to you, believe God for the best to come!
