Minding My Own Business…..

……..feels sooo good!

Make it your goal to live a quiet life, minding your own business and working with your hands, just as we instructed you before. Then people who are not believers will respect the way you live, and you will not need to depend on others.

1 Thessalonians 4 : 11-12 NLT

Living quietly, pursuing what God puts in my heart to do is so sweet, it is the best thing ever!

We live in a society where so many people want to share each minute detail of their life, experiences and opinions….all of which, unfortunately, has led to a generation of self-centred, vain, insecure human beings.

Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube (I’m sure there are more, but these are the ones I know), are not all bad platforms, when used appropriately and in moderation. Jesus Himself said we would do greater things than He did :

I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father.

John 14 :12 NLT

I believe one of these, was to be able to reach a wide range of people through these various platforms. Unfortunately, though, more often than not, we as people use these platforms to spy on each other’s lives, gossip about one another, make ‘indirect’ insults and try to make the other feel that ‘my life is better than yours’.

Mind your own business!! Put your attention and focus into bettering yourself, pursuing God’s best and will for your life, pouring into others and being a valuable asset to all those around you.

I have learnt soooo much about myself and others which has caused a serious shift in my thoughts and actions, all as a result of my applying 1 Thessalonians 4 :11-12.

What a blessing we will all be to each other if we fought to live by this advice!
